After a relaxing morning consisting of buttered marraqueta and hot chocolate, we decided to go for a walk to Cerro San Cristobal, where the statue of the Virgin Mary stands looking over Santiago.

The cerro is a small hill we went to on my first visit to Chile, but we took a bus and then a rail to the top. This time, we started at the bottom and walked about 3 kilometers up. We came to a tiny park and stopped there rather than continue the rest of the way to see the Virgin. Instead, we decided it was better to head back home for lunch. The city is smoggy/foggy today so the pictures probably wouldn’t have been worth the trip anyway.

After lunch and cafe we sat around chatting and now I’m going to work on my next writing assignment for a while and look for bus tickets for the South. It should be another relaxing afternoon under a blanket and in front of the space heater! And probably lots more questions about what we want for our reception! :)

Tomorrow we have a date with our friend Juan Pablo for lunch at his place, so until then, I suppose that’s all I have!

Chau!
