Once again, I have really fallen behind on keeping this page updated. I just wanted to announce that I have finally completed 6.3 miles, so I’m ready for a 10k, officially. It took one hour, 15 minutes, and 52 seconds, and I had to stop a couple times just to bend and stretch out my leg, but I’m very happy with my progress, especially considering the horrible week I had prior to the run. Nothing major, just a lot of fatigue and general sluggish feelings.
Diamond Head is an amazing running spot. I love it and hate it at the same time. It’s just lucky that the view is so great for most of the way around, because if not for that, there’s no way I’d be able to finish. And yesterday, for those of you interested in visiting the island in late winter, we saw a whale from the top of Diamond Head Road, near the lighthouse. I desperately wanted to stop and just watch him, but seeing that was just extra motivation for me to keep going. Inspiration. Love it.
